Miss Caplan's koto music is authentic and unique, adding elegance and distinction
to your event. It can
be as prominent or as inconspicuous as your function dictates, be it diplomatic,
corporate, educational, concert or social. Her repertoire ranges from
ancient Japanese classics through contemporary music with an Oriental flavour.
If you wish to present a particular ambience, the attire can be formal
black tie, Western style with a Japanese touch, standard business dress, or
Japanese kimono (at a nominal additional charge), as suits your occasion. Should your guests
be interested, Miss Caplan can discuss her music in English, French and Japanese.
|
Miss Caplan has performed in a number of Canadian locales including Toronto, Mississauga, Vaughan,
Kleinburg and Ottawa, as well as in San Francisco CA, Loveland CO and Fukuoka, Japan.
She has been featured at functions in such venues as Princess of Wales
Theatre, Art Gallery of Mississauga, Japan Society of Northern California, City of
Collingwood, Temple Sinai, McMichael Canadian Art Collection, City of Toronto, Rotary Club
and University of Toronto, among others.
|
Private lessons for adults and children are conducted at Miss Caplan's studio in Toronto. You
don't need any prior knowledge of music and you also don't need to be able to read
Japanese to study koto. Lessons are one hour long. For those students who do not have their
own instrument, kotos are available for rent at a nominal monthly fee.
